When I was a kid, I used to attach a playing card to the frame of my pushbike, with its tip interfering with the spokes of the back wheel – as you pedaled, the card would flick the spokes and make a motor sound. I don’t think that stuff ever leaves you, and since buying my F800, I’ve wished it had a slightly more ‘muscular’ sound (after all, my last bike was a ’78 bevel-drive Ducati SS with Conti pipes).

I use the attached checklist for standard servicing of my May 2007 F800ST - find it useful to have everything on one page and a place to tick things off, write down measured values (eg valve clearances) and make notes.
Doesn't mention re-setting the service reminder (mine doesn't have one, although my GS-911 would handle that).

Many have bemoaned how hard it is to see the coolant level through the small slit in the fairing - especially ST owners, who can't get torchlight onto the coolant tank because of the shroud each side of the radiator.
A simple fix is to add a small LED array behind the coolant tank. I sourced one from my local electronics shop for a few dollars - four white LEDs with a resistor to suit 12V power supply, encased in clear acrylic to make it robust and waterproof.

Fitting fog lamps to the F800 S/ST: Circuit description
Overview:
This describes the fitting of a pair of SW-Motech H4 55W fog lamps to a F800 ST. The fog lamps operate via an auxiliary lamp switch (sourced from the R1200 GS Adventure) and two relays.
