Im 6"5-6'6 and i fit fine, opposed to the rsv4 ...if you fit a gixxer or a fireblade it almost the same ,even have room on the seat to go back some ...remember its not a cruser or a sport touer like a katana but a real race bike
SO.CAL we ride all year long

every literbike I've sat on has me feeling on top of the tank to some degree, I'm 5'8". It needs to be that way - in cornering the tank needs to be out of the way enough so you can quickly get your torso from side to side, and lots of leverage is needed on the bars. The K-bikes are pretty good with anti-squat, but on my F800S, I've found that even with front lowered relative to the rear, under full power the front feels light and I wish I had more weight on my wrists, or that I could get my body more over the front.

And for how to wrap a tall, lanky frame over a superbike, just watch Ben Spies....they don't call him "Elbows" for nothing!!

The only thing I would add to the other comments Jimbo is that the taller riders that were at the circuit with me all said it was much more comfortable (relatively) than their GSXR /Fireblade / R1 etc. I didn't get the impression of being too far over the front of the bike, as I was aware of the instrument panel being quite easy to glance down at. I have a 31" inside leg measurement and the pegs were OK for me.

Next week all the UK journalists get to ride the bike at Portamao circuit in Portugal, and the very first review anywhere in the world will be on motorcyclenews.com next Wednesday 18th November, so it will be well worth logging on to that. The MCN journalist concerned Trevor Franklin was allowed to ride Corser's bike last week and said in his piece that if the road bike was a quarter as good there will be lots of people riding BMW sportsbikes next year.

Still a lot of negative comments from non BMW owners on forums here in the UK, generally commenting on the headlight arrangement or the bad press BMW have had regarding reliability on other models. However a very highly placed source I spoke to at BMW this week said that the bike has had more miles put on pre-production examples than any BMW in history, including entering it in Endurance races in Europe, with zero mechanical or electrical issues to report. In fact, the bike's electrical system is much simpler than other bikes in the range apparently.

BMW UK have said they are going to enter the bike in British Superstock in 2010, with hopefully Richard Cooper as one of the riders, and personally I think this is a great move to raise the profile of the bike still further as it could literally win straight out of the crate.

that is truly gratifying to hear, regarding how much test mileage has been put on S1000RR test mules, plus a full season of WSBK. The first production run doesn't start for at least two weeks yet, so small changes could still be made to improve reliability.

but then again, if everything goes according to BMW's plans...there could be a whole flood of these things, and next thing we'd be hearing is how armies of white red and blue BMWs are at every track day :p

I know you are going to hate me guys, but I must tell you that the bike is AWESOME!!!
in every way...
I work in a dealership in Greece and I was in a fast group that we really pushed hard on the bike(both my knee & boot sliders were destroyed along with the footrests of the bike),in the circuit that I have never visited in my life, with a bike I also meet for the first time. The sense of confidence and safety in extreme conditions is unique.
For those of you who pre-ordered the bike Ican only say EXCELENT CHOICE!!!!
For those of yoy who are still dreaming,or suspicious about the bike,rethink.....
